Tarantino Films

I was recently re-watching some Quentin Tarantino films (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Reservoir Dogs), and as many times as I’ve seen them, it still sometimes feels like it’s the first time I’m viewing them.

What’s great about re-watching his films is that you pick up on new things each time–whether or not its a comment, an item, a person, etc. What impresses me most is that though his films have action sequences, etc., the most exciting thing about them is the conversations between the characters. Some of these conversations can last ten minutes or so, which is pretty impressive to keep attention on a conversation between two characters for that amount of time. Also, the way he connects different stories by segue, etc. is really interesting. At the time you’re watching, it can seem that two characters’ stories have nothing in common, but they end up connecting in really creative and/or dramatic ways.

Point being–go re-watch his films. Especially Jackie Brown 🙂
